Do you ever think about the difficulty we’re going to have in a few years convincing younger people that at one time The Simpsons was one of the smartest, funniest and best paced comedies on television

I wonder if that generation is in fact already here

I’m not trying to sound jaded or romanticize the past because I think those sorts of attitudes are incredibly silly, but it’s honestly been like, a decade since the show was consistently good and that’s more than enough time for someone to assume that the show’s current incarnation is all it ever was

I do indeed miss the days when the Simpsons writers still tried to be clever.
